Eating and drinking in Cabanas
You'll relish sampling the wide variety of dishes served by the restaurants, cafés and bars in Cabanas. You can enjoy a lazy lunch by the waterfront or dine there in the evening and watch the sun set over the calm, blue waters of the Ria Formosa.
Cabanas is a former fishing village and has retained its Portuguese charm. You'll enjoy the calm and tranquillity there. The seafood is so fresh, and there are shellfish of all kinds, squid, and a huge variety of tasty fish served with vegetables or rice and of course, a Portuguese wine to suit whatever pallet you desire.
There's a local convenience store for all those essential bits, if you don't fancy going to the new shopping centre in Tavira (5 minutes drive away).
Cabanas Beach, East Algarve
And this is the place to board your boat to Cabanas Beach, just a 5-minute ride across the Ria Formosa before you hit the white sands of Cabanas Island. And there are boats every 15 minutes so you don't need to plan ahead.
